This Privacy Policy explains what information the Trucker Core app does and does not collect, how it is used, and your choices. We built Trucker Core to keep your business data on your own device and in your own iCloud — not on our servers.

1. The short version

We do not store your business records on our servers. Your loads, fuel purchases, mileage, GPS trips, expenses, receipts, and reports stay on your device and sync to your own private Apple iCloud account (via Apple CloudKit). We cannot read this data.
We do not collect or store payment card information. All purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card details.
The only account information we keep is the email address you sign in with and your subscription status, so we can give you access to the features you paid for.
Some optional features send data to third-party processors to work (AI document scanning, map routing). This is described below.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information (stored by us)

When you create an account or sign in, we receive and store:

Your email address (from Apple Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email/password registration).
A user identifier and subscription/entitlement status (whether you have an active trial or paid plan).

We use this solely to authenticate you and to determine which features you may access. That is the only personal data we retain on our systems.

2.2 Business and trip data (NOT stored by us)

Information you enter or generate in the App — including loads, routes, fuel and DEF purchases, receipts and rate confirmations, mileage, GPS trips and locations, expenses, IFTA figures, and reports — is stored locally on your device using Apple Core Data, and is synchronized to your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework.

This data is controlled by you and by Apple's iCloud service. We do not have access to it and we do not store it on our servers.

2.3 Location data

If you enable location/GPS tracking, the App records your truck's location to calculate real mileage and IFTA jurisdiction miles. This processing happens on your device, and the resulting data is stored locally and in your iCloud as described in 2.2. We do not collect your location on our servers in the standard (solo) mode.

2.4 IFTA tax calculations (performed entirely on your device)

All IFTA calculations — taxable gallons, jurisdiction miles, tax, credits, and balances — are computed on your device using the standard IFTA formula. The fuel tax-rate tables are based on the official published IFTA rates and are included in the App (updated through App updates). Your IFTA data and calculations are not sent to our servers or to any third party. (The only exception is the optional "AI Advisor" feature — see Section 3 — which, only when you choose to use it, sends summary figures to generate suggestions.)

3. Information sent to third-party processors

Certain optional features require sending limited data to service providers to function. We only send what is needed to perform the task you requested, and only when you trigger that feature.

Document scans (receipts, Rate Cons, permits). When you scan a document, the image is transmitted only to perform the scan — the AI reads it and returns the extracted data for auto-fill. We do not save these images to your account on our servers, and the original document stays on your device. The image is processed by the AI provider solely to return the result and is not used to train AI models.

Addresses and routing. Your saved addresses live on your device. When you choose to build a route, the App sends the start/end address directly from your device to Google Maps to calculate the route — the same as if you typed the address into Google Maps yourself. These addresses do not pass through, and are not stored on, our servers.

These third parties process data under their own privacy and security terms. We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Payments

Subscriptions and any in-app purchases are sold and processed by Apple through your App Store account. Apple handles all billing and payment information. We never receive, see, or store your credit card or payment details. Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID settings.

5. How we use information

We use the limited account information we hold only to:

Authenticate you and keep your account secure;
Provide access to the features and subscription tier you are entitled to;
Respond to your support requests;
Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

6. Data retention and deletion

Account data (email, subscription status) is kept while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will delete it within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records to comply with law.
Business/trip data is controlled by you. You can delete it directly in the App and in your iCloud settings. Because it lives on your device and in your iCloud, deleting the App or signing out of iCloud removes our involvement entirely.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the limited account data we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and authentication via trusted providers (Apple, Google, Supabase). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but because we store almost no personal data, your exposure is minimal.

8. Children's privacy

Trucker Core is a tool for commercial truck operators and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. Since the only personal data we hold is your email and subscription status, these requests are simple. Contact [email protected] to exercise any right.

10. Third-party services

The App relies on these providers, each with its own privacy policy:

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date. Material changes will be communicated within the App or by email.
